Google+ Pages: Step-by-Step

It looks like Google Plus is not going to be a Facebook clone after all! The network is pleasantly surprising me with the friendliness of the network to adult entertainment.

Difference from Facebook

  • Pages growing 5 times faster
  • Engagement is lower
  • Clicks are comparable
  • Allow adult links (though they say they don’t in the TOS, they network is being very tolerant)
  • When they suspend a page they give you the option to protest it and get your page reinstated (this usually happens within 24 hours)
  • You can use hashtags
  • You can post in topic related searches. This means if you search for #dating then post while in that search, your post will be tagged by that search making your post more topic related.
  • Indexing to Google immediately upon posting

So if you have not gotten your business on Google+ it is time to join the party. Here is how:

Ready to get your Google+ Business Page?

Here is a step-by-step guide on how to do it.

Google+ Pages Create a Page1 . Sign up: Go to: http://www.google.com/+/business/

  • Click “Create your Goolge+ Page”

Google+ Page Categories

3. Category: Select the main category for your page.

  • Local Business or Place- this is for if you are primarily local or have a physical location.
  • Product or Brand- if you are creating a page for one specific product item or for a brand.
  • Company, Institution or Organization- this is the general business category
  • Arts, Entertainment or Sports- anything having to do with these categories, though often these are people like artists and musician or groups of people like a sports team.
  • Other- If you just don’t quite fit anywhere, you can assign your own category.

4. Sub-Category: After you select a main category you will be able to select a sub category that best describes you.

5. Page Name: Enter in your page name. This is what everyone will see as your page name and how people will find you. Do not make it too complicated and keep it to something that is easy to remember. Tip: Do not put XXX or Sex or really anything that seems to be obviously porn related in the name. That is a sure fire way to get your page removed.

6. URL: Enter in the URL for your website.

7. Age Restriction:You can opt to have age restriction on your page. This is good if you talk about mature issues, alcohol or drugs. The ages restrictions available are 13+, 18+ and 21+. Tip: Best to keep the wolves at bay! Set your page to 18+.

8. Profile Photo: Your profile photo is your face to the world. You may want to put your logo in here, or a picture of you. But whatever you decide make sure that the picture is square. Unlike Facebook, Google+ Pages give limited real estate to your pic. You can make this sexy, but keep it PG13. You don’t want your profile pic to be the reason your new page gets deleted.

9. Tag Line: This is where you get to put some quick little tid bit about your business. Think of this as your elevator pitch. You want something that describes your page and essentially draws someone into the page. This is a good place to be fun and flirty.

That’s it!

Pink Visual is in the Cloud

Pink Visual is lifting porn into the new era of cloud computing.

Pink Visual is taking a major step forward in porn technology with the announcement of their newest site PVLocker.com What is PVLocker?  Porn in the cloud!

Let me explain a bit about cloud computing. Most people don’t seem to know anything more about it than the Windows Cloud commercials, which makes it seem that this is something Mr. Gates can take credit for inventing.  The cloud is like having a computer online. It is a location independent server that holds your files.  Basically, it is an online hard drive you can get access to anywhere, from any computer, including mobile devices.  Assuming, of course, that you have all the proper verifications to access the information.

The cloud acts as a backup hard drive for your important files, and it is also great for sharing files with other users, especially when project collaboration is key.  A big advantage is being able to reach it from another computer, or your phone, or your iPad.  I contact my cloud drive from across the room, because it is easier to access the drive then it is to transfer documents from one computer to another that are not on the same server.

The interface of the cloud can be something as basic as a system of folders, or something fancier that is replicating the desktop of your home computer.

What does this mean for porn? It is creating a new distribution and storage solution for porn content.  Pink Visual will allow people to buy porn (from Pink Visual) and store it on their PV cloud drive.

So why is this great for porn?

  • People will be able to store their purchased porn online.
  • They will be able to access it from any computer or mobile device.
  • They will not have to store it on their hard drive.
This is a huge benefit; some people do not want to store porn on their computers for fear that others may find it (the biggest fear by far). Or fear of downloading viruses.  It also keeps their hard drive from getting filled up with video files, which take up a lot of space, because high quality videos are large files.
  • Free from subscription sites.
  • Store the videos you want, creating a custom porn library.

Currently the site will only allow you to store videos you buy from Pink Visual, but they do have plans to make it into a true cloud storage solution, where you will be able to store content from other sites as well. This does make me wonder if they will make agreements with other content distributors to allow their content to be stored in the locker; an embedded code that permits cloud storage would also help prevent the potential storage of pirated porn. They could also license those sites to have a download option that goes to the PV Locker.

The big difference from traditional cloud solutions is that there will be no sharing. This is part of Pink Visual’s commitment to battling piracy. You can only view and store your own videos.

Pink Visual’s leap into cloud computing represents the next era of porn storage and distribution. As Q Boyer, Director of Public Relations for Pink Visual said, “Looking at the current trends, including the popularity of social media and social networking, it seems pretty clear to me that consumers are actively rejecting all such attempts to dictate terms to them. They want their entertainment when they want it, where they want it, and how they want it.” Pink Visual is meeting that need with technological gusto!

Following up from Xbiz

Today's Lesson: Follow up! Follow up! Follow Up!

We last talked about the business card strategy to help you remember who you have met. Now it is time to hit the follow-up. This may be the most important part of your conference experience.  A good follow-up can actually be more important than a good first impression.

At conferences you meet hundreds of people.  It is likely that a good first impression will get you the next conversation; when you reconnect, will the person really remember that first impression? Chances are they won’t – at least not in any great detail.  Your follow-up needs to be strong, because this is the impression that lasts.

When you get done with Xbiz, email every person you received a business card from within 4 days.  Give people a day after the conference to get their bearings and take care of business – but don’t wait too long. People have short memories; strike while the iron is hot and take that initial connection and try to turn it into something more.

You might ask, what about those who I don’t think will be beneficial? Maybe they are not in your industry, or they don’t have services that you find useful, but that doesn’t matter. You need to connect with everyone. You never know who will be a good connection. Maybe they know someone you want to meet; perhaps they will give you a referral some day.  It does not cost you anything to send them an email that says “Hi! It was great meeting you.”

When you send the email try to reference something from your conversation. Remember those notes you made? They are going to come in handy right about now.  If you can even remember a tidbit of the conversation, by mentioning it you are telling the person that you were invested enough in the conversation to pay attention to what was talked about. They will appreciate the reminder, which will serve to jog their memory.  It also opens up an opportunity to continue the conversation you started, and develop a potentially beneficial connection.

The biggest difference I notice between people who are successful and people who are trying to become successful is how they operate their business. It sounds so simple, but successful people take care of the little things, like following up on business cards.  This not only makes you seem professional but it also puts you out there as someone who is driven and dedicated.  Be that person.
